Advantages of green burials

Life is a full circle. Who comes, has to leave one day. In the industrial era of today, it not only is trivial to live green, but it is also important to die green. What is meant here is that being environment friendly is a requirement that should persist till your last breath. Whatever you have done throughout your life in saving the planet should not go down the drain after your death. For the healthy reimbursement of the atmosphere, Green burial are increasingly being very familiar. There are numerous reasons why a Green cemetery is taking over the place of cremation and other modes of burial. The most notable of it is being environment friendly.

More than just being cheap and within reach, this style of a burial will entirely justify your affection to the deceased. As much as you lay emphasis on green living, dying green should be similarly given preference to. If we gather all the embalming solution used, it is not surprising that it will fill eight of the Olympic-size swimming pools. Now that is exceedingly alarming!

According to a study it has been shown that there are above 22,500 cemeteries that use approximately 827,060 gallons of embalming fluid on the corpses of their dear ones. Embalming fluids contain different chemicals like formaldehyde, disinfectants, methanol, phenols, dyes and etc, that are not very advantageous to the soil. Moreover, these chemicals trickle down till the ground water level and may cause serious illnesses when drunk with water.

Now the question develops, why should we select a green burial when we can easily afford an expensive one? The answer to this is very simple and reasonable. Even though the person is deceased, but it feels good to make him comfortable even in his burial place. You want your dear one to rest in peace, so you should make it peaceful for him in there. A biodegradable casket, with a bedspread over it, will definitely give you a satisfactory feel that your dear one is resting in peace. Added to this would be a comforting picture of the grave under a flower bed of different flowers and shrubs that enclose the deceased. Even though a metal casket with a heavy crypt will appear nice at the ceremony, it will not be able to complete the circle of life as efficiently as a green burial will.

Lastly, the nature has to play its role. The body has to return back to the soil to return back the nutrients it is made of. The environment needs to be preserved for the prospecting generations to come. Non-renewable resources used in a customery funeral will not only finish the natural growth, but also they will indicate to be very harmful for the individuals years later. Thus, a solution to continue it all according to the nature’s own way, is an environment friendly burial. Although it may sound like a cliché now, but it is about time that we should realize this; save the Earth!
