Common Symptoms of Alcoholism
A number of visible symptoms may suggest that a certain person is suffering from an alcohol problem. Many of us have perhaps only heard the term alcoholism, do we really know what is it all about? In line with this, there is a need to fully understand and recognize the signs of this telltale disease.
First of all, alcoholism or alcohol dependency, is a common disease. It is debilitating in nature and can be passed on from generation to generation (though genetics is only one way to acquire the disease).
Early symptoms of this illness may differ from person to person. There are persons who develop a gradual tolerance for alcohol thus prompting them to drink more than the usual dosage without much of a visual effect and then there were those who will drink and experience sudden change in moods. These persons were usually withdrawn but as a result of drinking, they may turn irritable and violent when drunk.
Others may tend to cheat and lie out of desperation to get more alcohol. People who tend to suffer this malady started introducing alcohol to their body at very young ages, thus, making themselves more prone to alcoholism. Severe cases of alcoholism can result in memory loss bouts and passing out or what is commonly known as blackouts during drinking sessions- issues especially common among those that began drinking young.
Alcoholism though thought to be a form of addiction, can be easily treated if only the person suffering from it is able to admit that he is suffering from the disease.
