The City of Cupertino

The suburban city of Cupertino in the state of California is perhaps regularly noted as the home of the famous Apple Inc. To whom the world owes the i-technologies. The city is a part of the Santa Clara County, and is set to the west of San Jose. It is specially sited on the western part of the Santa Clara Valley, and extends further to the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The city was named after a creek which was called Arroyo San Jose Cupertino in respect f Saint Joseph of Copertino. The stream had renamed to Stevens stream, but the original name was at last changed for the city.

The Cali Mill square is what the place has that comes closest to standard downtown shopping and commercial districts. There aren’t any formally hailed districts particularly meant for shopping and commercial uses, but the Cali Mill has enough shops and commercial spaces to qualify it for one. The square is also the location of the important Crossroads, the junction of De Anza Boulevards and Stevens stream which is perhaps the most frantic spot in the city. Two open-air shopping centres can be found in the piazza, as well as gas stations and the Cupertino city Centre which is described as a confluence of a piazza and a commercial building.

Of course, the first industry in Cupertino city is manufacturing related to computer parts and the internet. The city essentially bears the title Heart of the Silicon Valley thanks to the myriad of computer firms and semi-conductor manufacturers that are sited inside its borders. As mentioned, it is the global headquarters of Apple, period. Other famous corporations hosted by the city are Hewlett-Packard, Portal Software, and Trend Micro. Many of these corporations can be found along De Anza Boulevard, Bubb Road, and in Cali Mill plaza. Another major industry in Cupertino is construction and rock quarry. There are several workers employed by companies specializing in this area, and a good example is Lehigh Southwest Cement. The construction of cement takes place in the plant positioned on the foot of the hills in the western part of the city. Furthermore, shopping also contributes a good deal to the funds wanted to keep the city beaming with life. Folks from the nearby cities often pour to Cupertino to go to its malls and raid its shops.

With everything that the city offers, many people find the city a nice place to live in. Work rate is high and the citys overall growth is in full force, promising more opportunities and local careers. Cupertino city is also spared from grave pollution, and its natural treasures and sights are well preserved, notwithstanding of the great silicon industry which has taken residence in it. In fact the city is included in the list of the best places to live of the 2006 and 2008 editions of the MONEY magazine. Imagine being in the center of technology while enjoying the relaxing feel of the country life and you will actually know why the city is included in that prestigious list.
